An experienced litigator, Mr. Bastian finds creative solutions for his client’s issues in and out of the courtroom. He has over 30 years of experience representing and advising professionals, businesses, and individuals in litigation and transactions. His clients have included banks, attorneys, accountants, healthcare professionals, architects, engineers, real estate professionals, constructions professionals, insurance professionals, and others.

- Assisted a retailer with numerous stores in California, Oregon, and Washington to renegotiate bank and lease obligations that threatened the company’s ongoing operations.
- Represented a major bank involved in a class action related to credit card practices. Representation continued through a successful appeal.
- Represented a major bank in suits claiming liability for failure to identify and stop forgeries committed by employees of plaintiff companies.
- Represented a major bank in a suit that alleged it was liable for failure to identify and stop fiduciary elder abuse of one of the bank's customers.

Professional Contributions
Mr. Bastian is a member of the ABA Section on Legal Malpractice, the Northern California Association of Defense Counsel, the Sacramento Bar Association and the Placer County Bar Association.
Mr. Bastian assists the Sacramento County Superior Court and El Dorado Superior Court in dispute resolution proceedings and acts as a private mediator.
Community Contributions
A volunteer with The Gathering Inn, Mr. Bastian assists the organization with its efforts to provide care and shelter for homeless individuals and families in Placer County. He also serves as legal advisor to nonprofit organizations in his community, including his church and affiliated preschool.
