Janet Everson handles all forms of civil litigation in state and federal courts, including professional liability, malicious prosecution, business litigation, real estate, premises liability, trusts and estates litigation, and employment litigation. Ms. Everson also advises individuals and businesses in a risk management capacity. Ms. Everson is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California, all Federal District Courts of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
While in San Diego, California, Ms. Everson handled medical malpractice and employment law litigation, and was an adjunct professor for Thomas Jefferson School of Law performing as an assistant coach for the law school's mock trial team.
Ms. Everson joined Murphy, Pearson, Bradley & Feeney in 2002. She lives in the East Bay of San Francisco with her husband Nicholas and their two children Declan and Annabelle.
Representative Trials
- Sutter v. Applied Systems - Represented plaintiff in breach of contract and fraud action involving a dispute over defective software. The case was tried in Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and resulted in a recovery of approximately $400,000 for the client.
- Ronan v. Dutra - Defense judgment for defendant attorney sued for malicious prosecution arising out of representation of a home buyer in suit against residential property inspector. Plaintiff's demand before trial $1,000,000.
- Clear Channel v. Advertising Display Systems - Successfully defended
outdoor advertising company and its counsel who were sued for malicious
prosecution arising out of a business litigation dispute.
