Ms. Ruzicka is a senior associate in the firm's Sacramento office. She practices in state and federal court, with an emphasis in labor and employment law, where she advises employers on state and federal discrimination, wage and hour and wrongful termination claims. She represents clients in administrative hearings and workers compensation 132a claims. Additionally, Ms. Ruzicka practices in the area of professional liability defending professionals such as appraisers, attorneys, and real estate professionals.

Represented apartment complex owner in lawsuit by former tenant that alleges exposure to mold has caused tenant upper respiratory problems and emotional distress. The trial court granted apartment complex owner's motion for summary judgment. Upon appeal, the Third District Court of Appeal upheld the trial court's ruling.
Ms. Ruzicka served on the board of the Sacramento Area Human Resource Administrators from 2008-2010, where she was a frequent speaker. She presented seminars on mandated employer notices, leaves of absence and workplace investigations. She is also a regular contributor to their monthly publication where she recently co-authored Individual Supervisor Cannot Be Held Personally Liable For Retaliation Under FEHA.
Ms. Ruzicka is a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in the foster care system, where she provides advocacy for the child in dependency court proceedings and special education services.
Ms. Ruzicka also volunteers at the Sacramento Legal Services Employment Law clinic providing free legal services to low income individuals with employment related problems.
Ms. Ruzicka is a member of the Sacramento County Bar Association, the Women Lawyers of Sacramento, the California State Bar Labor and Employment and Public Law Sections. She is also a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Society of Human Resource Managers.
