2021 Shareholder Elevations

Murphy Pearson is pleased to announce the elevation of Nicholas C. Larson and Heather A. Barnes, both previously Directors at the firm, and Philip J. Kearney, Senior Trial Counsel, to Firm Shareholders.

Philip Kearney joined the firm’s San Francisco office in 2019 following a distinguished career of public service. His practice largely focuses on white collar defense stemming from investigations conducted by federal, state, and local enforcement agencies. Philip also conducts internal corporate investigations involving a variety of employee misconduct including fraud, theft of trade secrets, and sexual harassment claims. Philip has also represented Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs) in actions brought by the Department of Social Services and for claims involving Elder Abuse.

Nicholas Larson is the Managing Partner for the Seattle Office for Murphy, Pearson, Bradley & Feeney. He represents businesses, individuals, government agencies, and non-profits in all phases of civil litigation in Washington and California. His practice focuses on professional liability (representing attorneys, accountants, judges, real estate brokers, and insurance agents), white collar, corporate, real estate, and insurance litigation as well as government investigations. He also represents and advises professionals, executives, and businesses in internal investigations and civil and criminal proceedings involving State and Federal governmental agencies. His diverse practice also includes crisis-management, non- profit, construction, employment, IP, tax, and appellate work.

Nicholas was selected to the Northern California Rising Star list by Super Lawyers magazine every year from 2019 – 2021.

Heather Barnes is an experienced litigator in the Sacramento office of Murphy Pearson Bradley & Feeney, where she represents businesses and individuals covering all of their litigation needs. Her practice extends to professional liability, general business litigation, real estate, and complex litigation matters. Heather has obtained favorable results for clients in civil litigation, ranging from dismissal to settlement, and has extensively prepared cases for mediation, class certification, and trial.

Heather has also been selected to the Northern California Rising Star list by Super Lawyers magazine every year from 2017 – 2021.
