Located in major geographic hubs for the technology industry along the West Coast, including San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles, the firm’s Technology industry attorneys handle transactional and litigation matters for clients who are developing the new products and services that help shape our future, from video game and software ventures to medical device companies.

We offer practical guidance on all manner of business issues, for clients ranging from startups to established companies. In addition to advising in the corporate, employment, real estate and deal structuring areas that all businesses face, our Technology attorneys are experienced with nuances unique to the Technology arena, including negotiating employment and non-disclosure agreements in the technology setting.

We represent clients in the protection of their intellectual property, including trade secrets, trademarks and copyrights, as well as licensing agreements. Firm attorneys have experience advising technology industry companies on global trademark and copyright conflicts, including oppositions and cancellations, and managing litigation matters related to brand enforcement, DMCA issues, drafting complex IP agreements, and other matters.

Working closely with attorneys in the firm’s Privacy & Cybersecurity practice, we help clients respond to data breaches and crisis management, provide coaching and data incident analysis advise on data governance standards and regulatory compliance, as well as responding to investigations and regulatory issues related to various agencies, from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to State Attorney Generals. Some team members are Certified Information Privacy Professionals (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), which includes training in issues related to U.S. privacy laws regarding the collection and use of personal data, government and court access to private-sector information, workplace privacy, and state privacy laws.

When disputes arise, our litigation team steps in to provide strategic advice and strong advocacy on a wide range of commercial disputes, including involving breach of contract, unfair competition, shareholder and partnership disputes, trademark infringement, software licenses, copyright infringement, and patent issues.
