Attorneys and staff at Murphy Pearson dedicate significant time and resources to serve our local communities up and down the West Coast. Individuals participate in leadership roles, on organizational boards, and numerous volunteer activities. From industry trade groups and professional organizations to civic and charitable groups, our team members value participating in communities that are making a difference.

Association of Professional Women

Several years ago, Murphy Pearson launched the Association of Professional Women, a women’s initiative to address the business challenges and opportunities unique to women professionals. We value diverse perspectives and support the critical role that women play in the firm’s growth and delivery of quality legal representation to our clients. As part of our commitment to the advancement and retention of our women professionals, we prioritize the creation of an environment in which all of our members grow professionally, develop successful careers, and flourish as leaders within our firm and in our communities.

In advancement of these goals, we implemented a two-pronged approach to promote women in business by supporting broader networks and productive business relationships and by attracting and investing in the long- term success of women. This group comes together to provide women with leadership opportunities and ongoing support. We also develop relevant activities and host special client and business development events.

Pro Bono Work

Giving back is valued here at MPBF, and our team understands the significant benefit that pro bono work provides to those in need. Murphy Pearson historically has devoted its resources to representation of individuals who otherwise would not be able to afford legal services, including referrals through the AIDS Legal Referral Panel, Advokids and Catholic Charities.

Recently, MPBF attorneys received a referral from Catholic Charities, and successfully defended an immigrant facing deportation. Our team’s vigorous advocacy prompted the dismissal of the removal application.
