The firm is thrilled to welcome three new associates: Nanaki Dhesi, Lydia Engel, and Vanessa Yuen.
Based in Murphy Pearson’s San Francisco office, Nanaki K. Dhesi represents clients in intellectual property, business, and professional liability matters. Prior to joining the firm, Nanaki gained experience in IP and civil litigation at a San Francisco-based litigation firm, and advised on CCPA and GDPR compliance during an in-house externship at a global technology company. Before law school, she worked in client-facing roles at technology and fintech companies, giving her a practical understanding of the industries she serves. She received her J.D., with an Intellectual Property Law Certificate with Honors, from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she served as Senior Articles Editor of the Intellectual Property & Technology Law Journal and President of both the Business Law Association and South Asian Law Students Association. She holds a B.A. from the University of British Columbia.
Lydia Engel is a litigation associate in Murphy Pearson’s Los Angeles office. She received her J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where she focused on coursework in Business Law and Media, Entertainment, Technology, and Sports Law (METS). She earned her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University (B.A., Music (Voice); B.A., Citizenship & Civic Engagement). Prior to joining the firm, Lydia worked as a law clerk and gained experience in a variety of civil litigation matters, including disputes involving right of publicity and copyright.
Vanessa Yuen is also based in the firm’s San Francisco office, where her practice focuses on tax and professional liability matters. She brings a strong background in complex tax planning and advisory work, particularly for high-net-worth individuals and closely held entities. Prior to joining the firm, Vanessa worked at a large accounting firm where she advised ultra-high-net-worth individuals, trusts and estates, and closely held businesses on sophisticated tax matters. In that role, she gained hands-on experience implementing wealth planning strategies for founders of established companies and clients with significant real estate investments. She earned her B.A. from San Joes State University followed by receiving her J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco. While in law school, she participated in several clinical programs, including the Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic, where she worked on estate planning matters, and the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, assisting clients with tax controversies and compliance issues.
Welcome Nanaki, Lydia, and Vanessa!
