Hanna was born and raised in San Francisco. They received their B.A. from Georgetown University in Washington, DC and their J.D. from UC Davis School of Law.
Throughout law school, they worked on pension law issues for Legal Services of Northern California (LSNC) and interned at the Solano County Alternate Public Defenders Office. Upon graduation, they completed a post-bar clerkship at the Santa Clara County Alternate Public Defender’s Office where they represented clients in felony matters.
Before joining the firm, Hanna worked at the Solano County Alternate Public Defender. They represented clients in both misdemeanor and felony matters, conducting numerous jury trials, preliminary hearings, probation violation hearings, and motions to suppress evidence under the Fourth Amendment. During their tenure there they worked with numerous defense experts, cross-examined civilians and experts alike, and developed expertise in emerging areas of California criminal law.
Hanna is passionate about serving the AAPI and LGBT legal communities. They were a board member for Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom (BALIF), the nation’s oldest LGBT bar association, for 2 years. They also served as president of the Solano County Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) for 3 years.
