MPBF is pleased to welcome four new associates to its Sacramento, San Francisco, and Los Angeles offices: Matthew Bersin, Hanna Chan, Julian Zepeda, and Caylee Scott.
Matthew Bersin joins the firm’s Sacramento office as an Associate. Before joining MPBF, Matthew served as a legal fellow with the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance and as an associate attorney at a land use and mining law firm, handling transactional and regulatory matters for developers and mining companies. He earned his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law, where he focused his studies on environmental law.
In San Francisco, the firm welcomes Senior Associate Hanna Chan and Associate Julian Zepeda. Hanna joins MPBF following their work with the Solano County Alternate Public Defender, where they represented clients in misdemeanor and felony matters. During their tenure, Hanna conducted jury trials, preliminary hearings, and probation violation hearings, while working with defense experts, cross-examining witnesses, and developing expertise in emerging areas of California criminal law. Hanna earned their J.D. from UC Davis School of Law.
Julian’s practice focuses on professional liability, intellectual property, and sports and entertainment matters. Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate attorney at an insurance defense firm, where he represented companies and individuals in a variety of civil litigation matters. Julian earned his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law, where he specialized in intellectual property and business law, and interned with sports and entertainment firms, working on transactions, litigation, and NFL athlete representation.
In Los Angeles, MPBF welcomes Associate Caylee Scott. Her practice includes professional liability, complex civil litigation, employment litigation, and employment advice and counsel. Caylee earned her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law where she where she served as managing editor of the Santa Clara Law Review.
