Before joining MPBF, Mariah served as a Deputy District Attorney in Alameda County, gaining extensive trial experience and making a direct impact on her community. Her strong passion for social justice drives her advocacy for various issues, and she extends her commitment to the community through her foundation, “Living on Purpose,” where she mentors, speaks publicly, and consults athletes.

Mariah earned her Political Science degree from Washington State University, where she excelled academically while making her mark as a prominent member and the youngest elected team captain in the Women’s Division 1 basketball team’s history. Her passion for basketball continues to drive her as a player development coach for youth, along with her participation in professional and semi-professional leagues. Remarkably, she proudly represented Cambodia in the 2023 South East Asian Games and was honored as the 2023 Player of the Year for the Women’s Premier Basketball Association.

During her legal studies at Golden Gate University School of Law, she interned with prominent legal figures such as the current San Francisco District Attorney, Brooke Jenkins, and the Honorable Susan Breall of the Superior Court of California, San Francisco. Mariah’s leadership extends to her roles as the former President of the Black Law Students Association and her current position as a Board Member for the Charles Houston Bar Association, BAYGanda, and the Allison HOPE Foundation.
