Firm Adds Associates to Begin New Year

Murphy, Pearson, Bradley & Feeney begins 2023 with expansion in both their San Francisco and Los Angeles offices. This month, associates Mariah S. Cooks (Golden Gate University School of Law) and Marlin Gramajo Gillespie (University of California, Los Angeles School of Law) joined the firm.

An associate practicing out of Murphy Pearson’s San Francisco office, Mariah counsels clients in a variety of matters relating to business law, professional liability and all forms of civil litigation. A graduate of Washington State University with a degree in Political Science, Mariah also played on the women’s Division 1 basketball team and was the youngest elected team captain in program history. While completing her legal studies at Golden Gate University School of Law, she interned for the Honorable Susan Breall in Dependency at the Superior Court of California, San Francisco. She was also elected President of the Black Law Students Association. Most recently, Mariah served as a Deputy District Attorney in Alameda County assigned to the Juvenile Unit. She has a keen interest in advocating for social justice issues, and in her spare time, volunteers as both a mentor and basketball coach.

Marlin joins Murphy Pearson’s Los Angeles office, and counsels clients in a variety of matters related to business law, professional liability, and all forms of civil litigation. She graduated from UCLA School of Law with a specialization in the Critical Race Studies Program. At UCLA, Marlin co-chaired OUTLaw, and was involved with various affinity groups, including the Native American Law Students Association. She was also on the UCLA Law Review as a dialect editor, and a writing advisor for the law school’s research and writing program. Marlin’s native language is Spanish.
