Meliha is a litigation associate in Murphy Pearson’s Seattle office. She is licensed in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska.
An experienced litigator with a distinguished track record in effectively advocating for her clients, Meliha’s practice includes business disputes, wrongful death cases, personal injury, premises liability, and insurance conflicts.
Prior to her tenure at MPBF, Meliha honed her legal skills by specializing in complex civil litigation within the maritime sector. Her practice involved representing a diverse group of clients, including vessel owners, underwriters, marine terminals, and employers entangled in maritime casualties, Jones Act claims, passenger-related litigations, vessel arrests, limitation of liability cases, and Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act matters.
Meliha’s decision to pursue law was shaped by her experience as a first-generation Bosnian immigrant and a war-survivor. The lessons in resilience continue to guide her approach to every case and challenge.
In her leisure time, Meliha enjoys playing and watching basketball (still waiting on someone to bring back the Sonics to Seattle), attempting to get a hole-in-one in golf, as well as relishing the natural beauty of the greater Seattle area. On overcast days, she finds solace in immersing herself in the pages of a compelling book.
