Defense Judgement in Monterey County Superior Court

Judgment in Favor of Defense. Murphy Pearson attorneys, including John P. Girarde and Ebony Koger, obtained a defense judgment in favor of their accountancy firm client after successfully filing a demurrer to Cross-Complainant’s First Amended Cross-Complaint for equitable indemnity and declaratory relief. On July 10, 2020, the Monterey County Superior Court sustained without leave to amend the Demurrer to the First Amended Cross-Complaint and judgment was entered in favor of our client on August 21, 2020. We are pleased that the court agreed with our legal arguments and stopped this futile case from proceeding beyond the pleadings stage.
