MPBF is thrilled to welcome former federal prosecutor and experienced trial lawyer, W.S. Wilson Leung, as Senior Counsel.
Based in San Francisco, Wilson Leung is a former federal prosecutor, experienced trial attorney, and compliance leader in Murphy Pearson’s White Collar Defense & Investigations and Litigation groups. Wilson graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with High Honors, and earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He worked in the USDOJ Antitrust Division followed by a clerkship on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Upon completion of his federal clerkship, Wilson was an associate at Sullivan and Cromwell in New York.
Wilson served as a federal prosecutor for almost 15 years. As an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York and the Northern District of California, he investigated and prosecuted a variety of federal crimes, such as fraud, money laundering, bribery, tax evasion, and computer trespass, as well as violations of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and the Bank Secrecy Act. After 7 years he transferred to the Northern District of California, where he served as the Deputy Chief of the Organized Crime Strike Force, and initiated the first crypto-currency investigation in the district. Wilson tried 19 cases to verdict in federal district court, and briefed and argued numerous appeals before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Ninth Circuit. He was the recipient of the Attorney General’s Distinguished Service award in 2012, as well as the Director’s Award of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys in 2016. In 2011, the San Francisco Recorder named Wilson one of its “Attorneys of the Year.” Prior to joining the firm, Wilson worked in house at Hewlett Packard, Uber, and Intel heading up global investigations, compliance, ethics, and internal investigations. Most recently, he was appointed to the San Francisco Police Commission by Mayor Daniel Lurie. He is admitted in California and New York.
